Where I Be Bro?

As you may have seen from my last post, I have been on residentials for the past 2 weeks in Bala, Wales and then a local hotel as a part of Engage4Life.

I thought I should update you anyway and let you know how everything went for the first 2 weeks - because it was amazing! The facilities in the first week weren't the best, I mean, I shared a tiny dorm with 5 other people, our bathroom door didn't lock and was falling to pieces and I think we had 2 plug sockets for the six of us, but I guess that just adds to the experience! Besides that, the activities were great, we did canoeing, kayaking, rock climbing and waaaay more. Yes, I did fall out of the canoe, it was to be expected. On top of that, I got to meet loads of new people and get to know them better throughout the week, so it was all around a pretty good week.

The next week, we stayed in a local hotel and had to do business-apprentice-style tasks, which was kind of boring to begin with but eventually we all got on with it and it got a lot more fun - and I met even more people and made even more new friends, and I'm not even a very sociable person so its amazing that I liked that and managed to do that. We also had to plan for our 'Social Action' community project which we'll be conducting for the next 3 weeks.

Anyway, if that looooong explanation/account bored you, then I'm sorry, but I thought I should let you know what actually went on after I told you about it, its also the reason for the lack of posts and videos these past 2 weeks - but from now on I'll be living at home again (which I can't say I'm excited about... sorry mum!), so I'll have full internet access and way too much free time on my hands.

Summer Plans: Engage4Life

A couple of months ago I signed up for this program called Engage4Life (cheesy-sounding, I know), which is some government program designed to keep bored teens off the streets. I know I'm not the type to spend my activity-less days hitting old women on the head with a shovel for fun, as we all know 'the majority' of the teenage population do do (har. har.), but nonetheless I thought it would be a fun and unusual way of spending my extended summer.

Anyway, the program starts on Monday of next week (23rd), and involves:

  • A 5 day residential in Wales with adventure/outdoor activities
  • A 5 day residential in a local hotel (not quite sure what's going on there
  • A 'community action project' - ie, doing something to help the local community.
I'm pretty excited about it, a bit apprehensive because I don't know many of the people and so it could be strange, but mostly excited.

So, while I'm off in Wales and whatnot, I will probably not have access to the internet (at least for the first week), so it is likely that YouTube will be a bit redundant for at least 5 days. I am pre-filming videos and editing as many as possible before I leave - I'll upload them as private and then try and make them public with my phone during the week, but in case that doesn't happen (which it probably won't, knowing my luck), I am putting extra up beforehand; I don't want to leave the channel neglected with only 3 videos on it.

I thought I should give you a heads up and let you know what I'm doing for the summer. I'll tell you all about it as we go along. If I pluck up the courage to tell people about YouTube, then I may even try and do some follow-me-around vlogs when I'm there  (no promises, my channel is like my dirty little secret, only not so dirty). If not, I will get some footage and make a montage type thing, if they're interesting. Likelihood is I'll be muddy and falling over in most of it, so it could be entertaining at least.

Latest 2 Videos!

Hey, so I think (I actually can't remember...) I didn't post about my 'About Me' video because I'd already posted twice that day, so three would be overload. I then forgot to post about it the next day.

Soooo, here's my two new videos, one an introductory about me ramble sort of thing, and the other is the second ParisVlog, enjoy!:

About Me + Intro:

ParisVlog! Day 2:

I STILL need to film the KloCreations video about my new channel - that should be up soon. Hopefully.

Deep Hate for Computers

Yes, this may be post number 2 of the day, yes this is another ramble. Woops

But anyway. My internet stops and starts every minute or two, and there are constantly error messages popping up saying '*blah blah* has crashed, would you like to close it?' - I click yes, and five seconds later it 'crashes' again - WHAT! It is times like this when I wish I had a brand spanking new computer with zero flaws. But no. And I won't for probably years. I don't even know if its my computer, or the internet connection, or just Google Chrome's fault, but its annoying. Grr!

Anyway, mini rant over...

Grrr.

Now.

iRamble.

So, trying to film YouTube videos, where I just talk (ie, the point of a vlog), I kind of realised just how much I actually ramble; either that or I just forget what I was talking about and have to start again. I reckon that's because whatever I'm talking about is usually nonsense and I'm just on some kind of never ending path of nonsensical destruction. Like now...

Anyway, point of this post being: I haven't posted since Thursday and thought one was due (I've slacked sooo much lately!), and it's kind of a fore-warning; editing will be choppy and weird, just so you don't fall asleep/pass out with confusion. It's all for you! Promise... Ok, this is starting to sound MEGA creepy, so I'll shut up. I should have a new video up either today or tomorrow, depending on how much is pure ramble in the two I have already filmed. Oh wow.

PS: I am aware I need to film a video for my KloCreations channel to say where I am/what's happened channel-movement-wise, and I feel kind of bad because in the past few days I've had a couple of new subscribers (like, they're getting more frequent!? WHAT?!), and now they're just going to be like 'oh, great, so I just subscribed to someone who is just going to sit and talk to a camera as opposed to teach me how to make pretty things? That's cool...' so, if you're one of those people, sorry, but I'm not going to spend time making videos I don't enjoy making, hence why I haven't for like 6 months. That was one looong sentence. And I'm rambling.

PSS: If anyone knows any new vloggers, or if you are one, let me know - I'd love to talk to people like me and use YouTube as a community/social thing rather than just 'hey, talkin' to maself in a cameraa - likin' it?' <- not that that's my accent AT ALL.

PSSS: (too much to say!) ParisVlogs will probably be a weekly thing, so I don't bore the poor people of the internet, if they don't care about it.

Aaand now I promise I'm done.

New Video!

As promised, I uploaded ParisVlog Day 1 - it took me about 4 hours to find some good royalty-free music, but I finally found some at http://www.danosongs.com/ - lifesaver! Check it out anyway:

There isn't too much in the vlog, just some clips of me rambling and some footage I took from the bus on the way to the hotel from the Gare du Nord, which is what I needed the music for (otherwise it would have been the snippets of the tour guide, who told bad jokes (repeatedly) and didn't make much sense in the clips.

Day 2 should be up tomorrow! Technology-permitting, I tried to publish this a couple of times and Media Player stopped responding. Not helpful. I think my computer is slightly past it, but she has to last me! (please, universe!)

New Channel!

So, as promised, after I got home, I set up a new channel for vlogging, so here it is! Klobo37 - I wanted just Klobo but that was taken, and I like the numbers 3 and 7, hence Klobo37.

Anyway, this is my new and main YouTube channel. I will (technology permitting) be uploading ParisVlog Day 1 tomorrow, I just have to do a voice-over and then upload, otherwise its all edited and ready to go! :)

You may also notice that the blog name, url and look has changed, that's because this seems to be more on a personal, random level than just crafts - so I felt 'Klobo' was the better name to use, 'KloCreations' is my crafting/Etsy name. Does that make any sense whatsoever? It doesn't seem like it now, as I type it all out...

Vlogging + YouTube Update

Hey guys. I'm on my way back from Paris (just came out if the tunnel) and, having vlogged for the past 3 days, I have to say I quite like it and I have decided to start a new channel for vlogging  purposes; I don't want to mix up tutorials and vlogs - they don't exactly for together very well. I feel like I will move away from the craft tutorial side of things and will use this personal channel much more frequently - this trip has showed me that I enjoy that type of video more, as I can just be me, and it doesn't matter how organised or perfect the video is, because its just me being me. I may make a video for my current channel to explain it all, so I'll keep you updated, as soon as I get home I am going to make an account and start editing my vlogs. I'm excited!

WHERE have I been?!

Well... there's no good answer to that, I just sort of, once again, neglected this blog. I think maybe I've been too bored to do anything at all, not that that makes a bean of sense.

Anyway, I'm going to PARIS in 4 days! and I will definitely be vlogging there every day, if I don't, you have my permission to find me and kick me. I'm really excited, even though I know I'll be dragged around museums all weekend - the trip is my Grandad's 70th Birthday surprise (he doesn't find out we're going to Paris until we're in Paris, all he knows is he's going on the Eurostar to somewhere...). He's a museumy sort of person, as is my Nan. Super fun! I don't mind museums, I can be cultural, but I can just foresee a culture overload.

I would say in this post 'hey, I'm going to film a video' - but I keep doing that and then not filming, so let's not make any promises and just say maybe at some point I will make a video - knowing me, it will be maybe next year, 2015 sounds good, right?

Video Update

Hey Guys, you may have noticed that no videos have appeared on my channel, as I had promised. There will be one up in the next couple of days but filming is much more difficult than I expected - I keep filming entire videos not in the frame without realising, I got hiccups (who knew they could be so disruptive?!), and then the last one I did, when I was finally in frame and in control of my breathing, the audio got messed up.

I'm hoping that's just because the camera was dying (and did at then end) by this point and that affects the audio/video syncing, but I'm going to try again later and hopefully, it will work this time and then I can actually upload something.

If all goes well I'll probably be in a good mood and I will film a tutorial and put that up in the next few days too, hopefully. Fingers crossed...

Final Exam!

Yesterday I had my last exam! not ever... I'm only in year 11 so I'll have more in January, and then more in May/June and so on for years yet, but they're over for now, at least!

And this means...

I'M FREE! I've obviously finished all of my subjects, I've done the exams so I don't have to go to school again until September! Woohoo. Schools in the UK this year aren't breaking up until the 20th July, so it gives me a whole entire extra month of freedom.

I think I'm going to get very bored, very quickly.

But no matter, I'm sure I'll find something vaguely productive to do... maybe, probably not but it would be good to not waste the time by sleeping and doing nothing much.

Still doing exams? Some of my friends haven't finished yet (most of them, actually...), so good luck if you haven't finished already! :)

New Camera! + Video Plans

My camera arrived today! I can't wait to try it out :D  My last exam is tomorrow morning so when I get home I am going to film, film, film! haha. I'm so excited, its sad. Plus, it is a lot smaller than I thought it would be, like, I can practically get my entire hand round it, and my hands are small... so this isn't going to be too bulky to vlog with either! Ahh!

*The above paragraph was edited from 'my new camera hasn't arrived...', because it arrived half way through writing this post!*

So, if you're reading this and there's anything you want to see (tutorial, vlog or otherwise), then let me know!

Video uploading, schedule-wise, I want to upload at least once or twice per week, if not more, but I'm starting A-levels next year which is going to be a change that I will need to adapt to, so I don't know when the best times to upload/film would be, because I don't have my timetable. Also, in the summer I'm doing a program thing where I won't be at home Monday-Friday for 2 weeks, and I'll be doing it for up to 3 weeks more after that, coming home in the evening, probably pretty tired, so I'll have to see then what I can do - but I'm looking forward to it!

Anyway, my video plans so far are:
  • Granny Square tutorial
  • Friendship bracelet tutorials, maybe the plaid-pattern (last post) and any requests.
  • How to start/end a friendship bracelet - Adjustable method
  • An updated friendship bracelet collection video (maybe)
  • Vlogs (follow me around vlogs, hopefully, but that might be a bit awkward)
  • Paris Vloggin'! - I'm going back to Paris on the 6th July-10th with my family (woo), so I want to try and do daily follow me around vlogs there, which might be awkward in a busy city with my grandparents, mum, her partner and my sister, but I think it would be fun!
  • School Supply Haul (because there are barely any from the UK on YouTube)
  • REQUESTS!
Sounding good? I have no idea what I'll film tomorrow, probably an Update video, and a couple of others, I'll see what takes my fancy after the exam. :)

Plaid-Patterned Bracelet

Back to the crafty posts :) This is a bracelet I've seen before and thought was really cool! I love how the bright rainbow colours stand out against the black, and how they also fade into each other, like a rainbow. So, I found the pattern on friendship-bracelets.net and had to make it! Here's the product so far ->

It is 15 strings so is pretty time consuming, but I think it is so worth it! I'm pretty much almost done and this is a must for Etsy when I'm done :)

Keep you updated!

Musicality!

mu·si·cal·i·ty/ËŒmyo͞oziˈkalÉ™tÄ“/

Noun:
  1. Tastefulness and accomplishment in music.
  2. The quality of being melodious and tuneful.

Lately, I've really found my type - and I've found in in independent YouTube artists :) I would name names, but there are loads. Maybe I will name names actually! (with links, woo, we all love links!)
In particular, I love their original songs - they by far beat mainstream music, and the fact they do it all for themselves is just amazing, I think.

Here's Luke Conard and Landon Austin's new original song (released about... 53 minutes ago, haha) which I LOVE!

Plus, here's Alex Goot's new album, 'In Your Atmosphere' preview (it comes out tomorrow), which, again I love and am really looking forward to!

Tiny Tower Update! And Revision Ramble...

So I didn't post yesterday, and had no idea what to post today, so I thought I would do a Tiny Tower Update! Just for lack of ideas...

Anyway, as of now, I have 21 floors (22nd under construction), 5 people in their dream job (3 of which are ALL the Pizza Place - weird...), and 1 complete mission. I'd say its all going pretty well, but I must say, the further it goes on the more tedious the game is - like restocking and finding residents and stuff (I have 38 of those :D). Is it just me getting lazy and bored?

I don't know, but I do know I spend too long on that game, and have to put my phone on the other side of the room in case I'm tempted while revising, which, if you've seen Twitter, has taken a turn for the worst lately - I thought I had a week until my next exam, turns out it is on Tuesday. Today is Saturday. Oops. So much for one week of relaxing/doing nothing, one week of steady revising. UH, NO! I got half a week of doing nothing, and 3 days of PANIC REVISING! aka, cramming. Not the best plan when it is History, and not the best plan when you suck at cramming anything at all into your mushy brain. Also, procrastination is a great help too. Anyway...

Tiny Tower!

...to end on a high note. (pun maybe intended... :P)

New Listing! Rainbow!

Friendship Bracelet - Bright Rainbow Individual Mini Bracelets (set of 6)
So the sun finally (sort of) came out for me, at least it came out enough so that I could take photos of the rainbow bracelets I was talking about earlier this week.

They are now listed on Etsy, take a look here. You can see them opposite too (see the importance of good sunlight?

Tell me what you think and if there is anything I should do to change/make my listings or posts better. I'm always looking to improve. I don't know if these posts are just me rambling or are actually interesting to some people...

Review: The Lucky One (Nicholas Sparks)

So I in my last post I said I bought 'The Lucky One' by Nicholas Sparks, and that day I read like 40 pages and then I got tired and went to bed, not much had happened at that point, it was more setting the scene and getting to know the characters. However, This morning I woke up and thought, I'm going to read! So I read. All of it.

Yep, I read the whole thing for five hours straight. I loved it. If you don't know, its about an ex-US marine (Logan Thibault) who finds a picture of a girl (Beth) while on tour, and then he sets out to find her after he feels it brought him good luck. That part's pretty predictable, he finds her and they fall in love, (I think the cover and blurb pretty much spoil that one for you, don't blame me), but that is not fully the main part of the story, and I'm not going to tell you anything else plot-wise because then I would be to blame for spoiling, but let's just say its gooood (you'll have to read it to see what I mean).

Between Thibault's memories and accounts of his past, Beth's... situation, and the bonds you see between the characters (...and the conflicts), this is a really good, all round story. It's not too soppy, but its got that air of drama and suspense. Its also pretty funny at times, and it takes a lot to make me laugh out loud at words on a page. All in all, I would recommend this book, and I'm definitely going to be getting more of Sparks' novels to waste my days with.

It's safe to say I'm pretty desperate to see the movie now too, although I'm really not sure, from reading it, if Zac Efron fits the bill for Thibault, I guess I'll have to watch and find out...  I do know that movies always infuriate me after I've read the book first (or if I read it second), so we'll have to wait and see on that one.

No Sun... How 'bout a Book?

So it turns out the sun doesn't actually like me and decided to stay behind the clouds, so I couldn't take photos for Etsy. I would rather wait for that natural light than use artificial light, which is too yellow and doesn't look as good, in my opinion.

Anyway, I bought a book today! If you hadn't already guessed, its 'The Lucky One' by Nicholas Sparks. I've never read one of his novels before, but I've seen a couple of the movies and have always thought it might be a good idea, and when I saw this I thought 'what the heck' so I grabbed it (obviously I paid for it, wrong word there maybe) and I'm going to start reading it later. I'm looking forward to it! I hope I like it, I'm fussy with books so its hard to find anything to read. But, if I like this, I'll have plenty to be getting on with. I love reading, I just like to read things that really grab my attention, or I get bored and fall asleep - slightly taking away the enjoyment.

Rainbow Bracelets!

So I did what I said I would, I made 3 more bracelets to give a full ROYGBV rainbow. (I didn't do Indigo because I don't have a bright version to match the rest). These are mini bracelets, and I tried them by tying them (loosely) around my wrist, and they look really good together, in my opinion.

I decided not to do my usual adjustable type bracelet because the small ones twist, so it doesn't work too well, and also, the point of friendship bracelets is to have your friend make a wish, tie the bracelet onto their wrist and then wait for the strings to naturally break and fall off. Then the wish comes true. Sweet huh? Well that wouldn't work if it was adjustable, because you can take it off. I'll probably put the option of adjustable-ising the bracelets when I post them on Etsy though, I know some people might prefer that :)

They will be going on Etsy later, hopefully, if the sun decides to peek from behind the clouds. (British weather has returned to the usual grey drizzle. wa.hoo.). Anyway, I'm off to beg the sun to return so I can take photos of these bracelets. Then maybe I'll make myself a set.

Olympic Bracelets?!

Yesterday I started working on these Olympic bracelets - the point being to make 5: green, blue, yellow, red and black, the colours of the Olympic rings. I thought I would get into the spirit of it. :/

But then I started wondering if it would be illegal or not to sell bracelets using what I suppose is, technically, the Olympic branding. So I stopped at the third and I'm now wondering what to do with them. I don't really fancy any problems with copyright or whatever law protects this particular image. Any ideas?

Luckily, the ones I did do are all in the classic ROYGBIV rainbow, and they sort of match, so I guess I could do something with them other than letting them go to waste. Hmmm... Maybe a bright rainbow is in order?

I might start work on that while I'm watching the penultimate episode of Desperate Housewives (*sad face*). Yes, it had really taken that long for the series to come to the UK, its annoying.

One Year on YouTube!

Wow guys, it is one year since I posted my first video today see it here. Its been a good year, I have nearly 6,000 views on one video, 23 subscribers, 10,600 total views and 3 failed cameras, so altogether pretty positive. :)

When my new camera arrives I will be posting videos again (considering I haven't for 3 months...), so hopefully that arrives soon :) If I haven't said already, it is supposed to arrive between the 6th and 22nd of June, but maybe I'll be lucky and it will come sooner. Who knows?

So yeah... hopefully I'll last another year! haha :)

Happy YouTubeiversary to me!

I saw the Olympic Torch!

I feel like this is the kind of thing I can tell my grandchildren (when I'm of that kind of age...).

Anyway, here's my one and only picture of the torch going on its journey. Pretty cool huh? I honestly wasn't too bothered, it was a sort of blink-and-you-miss-it kind of thing. A dozen police bimbled past on their motorbikes at seemingly unnecessary intervals for about 20 minutes, then there was a procession of sponsors (like Coca-Cola), and then the torch was lit and ran past.

Funny (ish) thing was, there was a bus that drove past full of the day's runners, and each of their torches waiting. It did kind of take the 'special' aspect away, because it made it too real that there are actually 8,000 of these torches, not just one unique torch. But never mind!

So yeah, that's my exciting day following two fun physics exams.

PS: I've only just noticed the guy standing on top of a truck taking photos in the background. That must have been fun!

Olympic Torch Relay

So the Olympic torch is coming past my school today, so, considering I am going to be stuck there as all the roads are closed, I'm going to get to see it! Maybe. I've seen the massive crowds on TV, but I don't see any considerable number of people even caring about this place to come, so hopefully I actually will get to see it, it may be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity after all. Yay.

and in other news, I got my 6th floor on Tiny Tower... woohoo!

Tiny Tower!!! and Revision...

I don't know how, but I only just downloaded Tiny Tower on my phone, and I'm already addicted! I have a grand total of...
*cue drumroll*
5 FLOORS! slightly pathetic but eh, well. I went on the 'friends' section and everyone had these towers that were basically off the screen, and then I scrolled across and there was itty bitty ickle me all small in the corner, with my 5 floors.

Problem: I have a lot of revision to do. BUT I only have 4 more exams left! woo! So not the time to be getting addicted to games. at. all.

Anyway, I need to go and do a practice History paper and maybe some Physics cramming... woohoo for that. Otherwise I never will, and then I'll fail. We don't want that. Not a good idea. (even though, again, neither of those subjects apply to my life much...).

Bye!

Forgot to Post!

Oops, so yesterday, posting completely slipped my mind, so I thought I would post a random little something now, although I have no idea what I'm posting... hmmm.

It's really sunny outside today, it has been for about the past week, but its supposed to end on Wednesday :( I like the sun! Other than these amazing 'heatwaves' we infrequently have, British weather is pretty rubbish, it either rains, is overcast or is just plain cold and boring. I like to go outside and be able to see colour, not just grey. No-one likes a grey day. Maybe... maybe some people do.

Yay for the remaining sun! :D

Phone Sock Update

So here's how my phone sock is coming along, you can kind of see the pattern now, but the image quality is still weird (any idea why yet?). It should be finished pretty soon! this kind of a quick project keeps me motivated. :)

Friday, 25 May 2012

Back to Knitting

So today I decided. I want to knit again. I always go back and forth between knitting and crochet, usually favouring crochet. I started knitting a phone sock earlier using the magic circle method, which makes it completely seamless. I chose this coral colour (which looks pink in the picture), because it is like, my favourite colour at the moment.
I am doing a knit background with a double-cabled front, which you can't really see yet, but I'll keep you updated, hopefully I'll finish soon, otherwise I'll probably get fed up with it. I always do.

Exams... Again.

So, it seems all of these 'craft-related' posts are actually about how terrible revision is, how much I hate it and so how much I don't do it. That's not crafty, but anyway, I thought I'd let you know...

I had 3 exams today and. It. Sucked. Even though I don't think I did too badly, it was just a lot of thinking for one day when I haven't actually had a full school day for weeks. Hence the late post.
Anyway, I only have four more exams left! (for this season...) In case it interests you, it's Physics, DT and two History exams, maybe technically 5 then, since there's two Physics exams...
Anyway, and then I am done. And I can do whatever I want, whenever(ish) I want. With NO SCHOOL!  wow that feels good to say, its been a stressful month or so with all of the unfinished coursework that no-one has been forcing me to do (I guess they think I'm responsible and don't procrastinate. pahahaha). I still have IT to upload, maybe I should do that, considering the deadline is tomorrow... yeah, might be a bit necessary if I'm doing it at A-level too :/  At least the work is done, I just hope I don't have a computer failure tomorrow.

T'would be bad...

Maybe I'll get back to actual crafting tomorrow (after uploading IT!). Bye!

Wednesday, 23 May 2012

Last-minute Chem-Cram :/

So yes, I'm bad. Yes, I need two 98s to get an A*. And so, yes, I am cramming chemistry before my exam tomorrow morning. Its not even like Chemistry is a subject that matters much to me (ssh kids, I never said that! even though its true...) but I'm still a bit of a nerd and so I still want to get that A*- looks like I'll have to settle for an A though, considering I have no idea what I'm cramming even means...

Also does anyone know why my photos look like this-> because whenever I post a picture from my phone, it looks all weird and pixelated and speckly and... just wrong, any ideas folks? no, great. may just have to have funky photos then .:/

A Desire to Vlog!

So lately, I've been watching crazy amounts of vlogs on YouTube, and watching them has made me really want to do some too! It looks so much fun! Embarassing and awkward, but fun. I really can't wait for my camera to arrive so I can get vlogging, I have, like, a serious need to try it. Seriously. It physically pains me that I have no camera to film with :(

My camera is said to be arriving between the 6th and 22nd of June so...

Watch this space then guys, many-a-vlog is a-comin'.

*PS: for the YouTube-impaired of you, a 'vlog' is like a video-blog, so like a blog post, but on camera.

Goodbye English! (sort of)

Almost... I've still got the poetry exam to do on Thursday, but finally! These books are out of my life! They have been plaguing me for months, and now I can do whatever I please with them. Not that I am, I might regret it in the future, I think they're going in the loft.

Its not that they're not good books, To Kill A Mockingbird is pretty good, I actually kind of like that, but honestly, I didn't really care for An Inspector Calls - it doesn't make much sense to me, hence the dreams of chainsaw massacre on it. Aah.... dreams!

Ah well, its over now. Done. Dusted. Failed.

New Listing!

Friendship Bracelet - Multicoloured 'Double Peruvian Wave' AdjustableI just listed a 'Peruvian Wave' bracelet on Etsy, so... yeah. Maybe have a look? If the last post took your fancy, but you're not the hands-on crafty type, here's the easy way to get the bracelet! Haha, goood sales pitch here Chloe. 'Apprentice' standard. (that's actually true - they can't pitch for toffee).

Double Peruvian Wave Bracelet

The other day I decided to try out the Double Peruvian Wave bracelet - and I'm glad I did! It's so quick and easy, while being one of the more complex-looking bracelets. My first one (the brighter) isn't great, its only 6 strings and so the wave isn't very defined, and I think I made the knots too tight! On the second, I used 8 strings, and made the knots further down the string, so that I could create the right kind of tension. It worked really well, I think! Definitely a new favourite pattern.

If you want to see a tutorial for this bracelet, go here (although I do suggest 8 or more strings, 6 doesn't seem to give the wave effect too well) :)

Motivation Needed!

It's May. I am in year 11, and so, I am slap-bang in the middle of my GCSEs. fun. Problem is, I am spending time posting things on here, and doing other non-academic things instead of revising. Great - I am setting myself up for true success here aren't I? I need motivation. Desperately. Now.

Oh dear. I'm breaking out the books, otherwise I am doomed to fail. Dooooooomed.

Summer Braid Bracelet

I decided I was fed up of revision (ssh) so I started this faux-braid bracelet, which I think is pretty cool,  if I do say so myself. I used summery colours that kind of remind me of watermelon, because it's nearly summer, and they make me happy :)

The pattern can be found here, on friendship-bracelets.net, in case you were interested.

Cancel the Last Post!

Guess what?

CANCEL THE LAST POST! I ordered a video camera. eBay is my friend. It'll take a couple of weeks to arrive, but it should be on its way, and then I'll be making higher quality videos, and often. Woo!

See you on camera in a few weeks then :)

Camera Fail

Hey guys! Me again...

So yesterday, I tried to film an amigurumi tutorial, and every single camera I own just failed:

  • My webcam, which I normally use, decided to make me sound like an incredibly deep-voiced man, and then proceeded to freeze my computer.
  • My actual camera decided to fall down every time I stood it up on the little tripod (that is due to the amazing design skills of the camera-tripod company, the camera weighs down one side, so it falls... clever.), and then I couldn't see what I was filming, and then the brand new batteries died. That's old technology for you.
  • So finally, I propped up my phone, which has a pretty decent camera on it, and it also kept falling over because it's thin, and a tape-roll/stapler standing-mechanism was bound to fail from the beginning. The maximum record time then kicked in, so I managed to film, but in 2-minute pieces, and I have no idea if all of the footage was actually filmed.
By this point, I just wanted to throw all technology out of the window, so I didn't bother checking.

So, I had a epiphany. I should invest in an actual video camera! As a classically jobless teenager (not for lack of trying, I might add), this isn't going to be as easy a task as it may sound, but I am going to try my very best. eBay here I come!

The good thing is, once I get one, I will be able to film half-decent videos, and it will be so much easier, so they will probably be more frequent too. Also, summer is soon, and I'm hoping to do some vloggin'.

Makeover!

This has been a massively neglected blog for the past year, maybe?

So... I thought my poor neglected blog needed:

a) A makeover!
b) A bit of TLC

So here it is, my first post for months, in a new-look blog, which I feel is so much better than before, otherwise I wouldn't have changed it...

Be ready to see more posts, and especially more less-pointless posts, which this is basically made up of at the moment. :)

Bye!
